Minty fresh and oh, so pretty! This Martini-style peppermint Vodka cocktail tastes like Christmas meets winter in a glass.

One of my favorite cocktail projects to date was helping create the drinks menu for a brand new Christmas Pop-Up Bar in Atlanta. The theme for the cocktail list was “favorite holiday movies,” so the tipples were to have fun names and to feel like a taste of the movies they were from. Plus, given the outrageous, over the top décor of the bar, the drinks not only needed to be delicious, they needed to be a bit extra as well!

I had a blast working on that cocktail list, and the final recipes are ones I'll enjoy making during the holidays for years to come. So in honor of the festive season, I thought I'd share a couple of the more memorable ones with you.

First up: Santa! I Know Him!

This Martini-style holiday cocktail is like Christmas on steroids! It's extra festive thanks to the bright pink color it gets from the candy cane infusion and its peppermint freshness that tastes like winter and fresh snow in a glass. This drink is quite different from your typical holiday cocktail due to its mint-forwad profile, but I'm pretty sure that Buddy and Santa are happily knocking back a few of these together up in the North Pole!

Minty fresh and oh, so pretty! This Martini-style peppermint Vodka cocktail tastes like Christmas meets winter in a glass.

Yields:

1 Drink

Ingredients:

2 oz Candy Cane-Infused Vodka

1 ½ oz White Crème de Cacao

½ oz Peppermint Schnapps

1 Dash Angostura Bitters

Garnish: Crushed Candy Cane Rim

Instructions:

FOR THE COCKTAIL:

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until super cold and strain into a coupe glass rimmed with crushed candy canes.

FOR THE INFUSION:

For reference, we combined a full bottle of Vodka with an entire box of mini candy canes and let it infuse for a few days. This results in a strong candy cane-flavored spirit, which combined with the Schnapps makes for a very minty drink. So if you want a more subtle peppermint flavor, start with 2-3 mini candy canes per 8 ounces of Vodka -- you can always add more!
