Fall is in the air and nothing says Autumn quite like apple cider! It adds a perfect seasonal touch in this Mezcal Margarita that will warm you up and have you coming back for more.

Fall has finally made its way to Georgia, and I couldn’t be more excited!

The colors are just starting to pop, there’s a hint of crispness in the air, and I broke out my first cozy hoodie of the season last week. And I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite things about Fall is that it brings with it apple season, which means HELLOOOOOO apple cider donuts and caramel apples and hot apple cider and apple pie/cobbler/crisp and and and….…

and of course apple-driven tipples!

While I don’t subscribe to the notion that certain cocktails should be relegated to certain seasons (i.e. I’ll happily drink an Old Fashioned in the dead of summer or a Piña Colada in the dead of winter!), it’s undeniable that apples offer an unmistakable Autumn vibe. So to officially kick off my Fall cocktail drinking season, I whipped up this Mezcal Apple Cider Margarita and I cannot tell a lie – it is DEELISH!

A little smoky, a touch sweet, and full of Autumn spice, this easy-to-make cocktail is one I will for sure be making on repeat all season long!

Smoky Mezcal Apple Cider Margarita

Fall is in the air and nothing says Autumn quite like apple cider! It adds a perfect seasonal touch in this Mezcal Margarita that will warm you up and have you coming back for more.

Yields:

1 Drink

Ingredients:

2 oz Mezcal

1 oz Lime Juice

¼ oz Maple Syrup

2 oz Apple Cider

Rim: Dark brown sugar, cinnamon & ground ginger

Garnish: Apple sticks

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until cold. Strain into a sugar-rimmed glass filled with ice and garnish.

Recipe Notes:

While the maple syrup adds a lovely touch of richness to the drink, feel free to use simple syrup or agave if you prefer.

My ratio for the sugar mixture is 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger per 1 tablespoon of dark brown sugar.
