While looking for Fall cocktail inspiration, I came across a drink called The Tender Knob and knew immediately that I had to try it! Created by iconic San Francisco bartender H. Joseph Ehrmann, it's a cocktail he named after the Tenderknob area in downtown San Fran (where The Tenderloin and Nob Hill neighborhoods intersect) and one that showcases the seasonal deliciousness of apples and apple cider.
Ehrmann's original recipe calls for Granny Smith or Fuji apples, neither of which were available at my local market the day that I set out to make this drink. I ended up with a bag of Galas instead, which were unfortunately too sweet for his recipe. So I made a few small adjustments to create more balance, resulting in a slight adaptation that I'm totally in love with.
This yummy combination of Bourbon, apples, cinnamon, and spice is chock full of flavor and guaranteed to give you alllll the Fall feels!
