Happy National Cocktail Day! What are you drinking to celebrate?

Over the weekend my mom and I spent some time looking through my cocktail books and picking out recipes to try. I’ve accumulated quite a few books at this stage, and have such a long list of recipes I want to make that I probably need another lifetime to do it. Some are classic recipes, others are craft concoctions, and some are recipes I may never even be able to source the ingredients for! But nevertheless, my “to mix” list keeps growing as I continue to learn about the ever changing world of drinks.

Yet, my mom and I never know what to have.

Because sometimes there are just too many options to choose from. And other times you simply don’t want to leave the sunny spot you’re comfortably sitting in on the patio to go out and get the ingredients you need.

As was the case this weekend.

So I made due with what my mom had at her house and threw together something I thought she’d like. Since she loves Bourbon and she loves oranges, and since I wanted something light and fresh to pair with the perfect Spring weather we were enjoying, I came up with the following. Aptly named because if I had a dollar for every time my mom and I have posed this question to one another I’d be rich!
