Rosemary Blue

Add some pizzazz to your 4th of July celebrations with this refreshing and festive red, white, and blue drink recipe that can be made as a mocktail for kids as well!

Yields:

1 Drink

Ingredients:

FOR A COCKTAIL:

2 oz Gin

¾ oz Basil Syrup

¾ oz Lemon Juice

15 Blueberries

Leaves of 1 Rosemary Sprig

Club Soda

Garnish: Fresh Rosemary Sprig

FOR A MOCKTAIL:

¾ oz Basil Syrup

¾ oz Lemon Juice

15 Blueberries

Leaves of 1 Rosemary Sprig

2 oz Club Soda

Garnish: Fresh Rosemary Sprig

Instructions:

FOR A COCKTAIL:

Combine blueberries, rosemary leaves, and basil syrup in the bottom of a cocktail shaker and muddle until well combined. Add lemon juice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Double strain into a glass filled with ice, add the Gin, and top with a splash of club soda. Give a gentle stir and garnish with a sprig of rosemary.

FOR A MOCKTAIL:

Follow the same instructions only instead of a splash of club soda, top with 2 oz. I originally created this drink as a mocktail, so the club soda has been measured to ensure that it does not drown out the subtle flavors of the fruit and herbs!
