2 oz Blended Aged Rum
¼ oz Demerara Syrup*
1 Medium Egg
Garnish: Freshly Grated Nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and dry shake without ice for 10 seconds. Add a large ice cube to the shaker and shake until cold. Double strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
*Make your own demerara syrup the same way you make traditional simple syrup, just swap out white sugar for demerara or turbinado sugar! The difference between the two is that demerara syrup adds a richer, almost caramel-like flavor to cocktails.
