Do you like to take yourself on dates?
I love it.
And a coffee date with myself is one of my very favorites! Especially in a city like NYC where yummy café options are abundant and people watching is plentiful.
Among my favorite spots for coffee in Manhattan is Caffé Reggio, a staple in Greenwich Village. In operation since 1927, it was the first café in the United States to serve cappuccino thanks to its original owner, Domenico Parisi, who introduced this coffee classic to America in the early 1920s. (The coffeehouse’s original espresso machine made in 1902 still sits in the shop as a symbol of the café's long coffee history.)
Caffé Reggio has been featured in a number of films and has served as the backdrop for countless celebrity paparazzi photos, but it's most famous to me for being a date spot for my parents in the late 1960s and early 1970s. ❤
