The key lime fun continues, and this time in Martini form!

Back in the Spring, my friend, Rebecca, sent me the recipe for her favorite Key Lime Martini. Unbeknownst to her, I had just planted my own key lime tree, so I felt like the universe was making it clear that I needed this cocktail in my life! While I could have gone ahead and made this drink with store bought juice, I wanted to wait and use my own key limes for it because I knew they would make it taste extra delicious! So after holding on to this recipe for six long months, it was finally time to whip up a few of these bad boys!

While I don't drink a lot of creamy drinks because I often find them too heavy, this one isn't heavy at all! And despite the ingredients sounding like it would be a super sweet drink, it's actually not. The acidity of the key lime juice cuts through the heaviness of the cream to give it a lighter mouthfeel, and its tartness balances the sweetness of the pineapple juice and coconut so that you don't feel like you're drinking dessert. (Annnnd exit sommelier mode.)

Tropical and delicious, this Key Lime Martini tastes like the beach in a glass and will have you feeling like you're seaside with every sip!

Key Lime Martini

A little creamy, a little tart, and a whole lot delicious, this Key Lime Pie Martini recipe tastes like the beach in a glass and will have you feeling all the island feels!

Yields:

1 Drink

Ingredients:

2 ¼ oz Vanilla Vodka

¾ oz Key Lime or Lime Juice

1 oz Pineapple Juice

¾ oz Heavy Cream

2 tablespoons Cream of Coconut

Garnish: Dried or Fresh Key Lime Wheel

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until cold. (I give this one an extra long shake to ensure that the cream gets really ice cold!) Strain into a glass of your choice and garnish with a lime wheel.

For added flair and a touch more sweetness, rim your glass with a combo of graham cracker crumbs and sugar!
