Description

This Pineapple Margarita is the one I make on repeat. It’s fresh, not too sweet, and way better than anything from a mix. Made with real pineapple chunks, lime juice, and tequila, it’s the kind of cocktail that’s easy to love and even easier to customize to your taste!

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Tequila
  • ¼ ounce Orange Liqueur

  • 2 ounces Pineapple Juice

  • ½ ounce Lime Juice

  • ¼ ounce Simple Syrup (optional)

  • 3 Pineapple chunks

  • Garnish: Fresh pineapple slice

Instructions

  1. Rim your glass with lime and dip it in salt, sugar, or Tajin if desired. Fill the glass with ice cubes and set it aside to chill while you prepare your cocktail.
  2. In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, muddle the pineapple chunks to release its juices.
  3. Add the tequila, orange liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, and simple syrup (if using) to the shaker with the muddled pineapple.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until very cold.
  5. Carefully strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with a slice of pineapple and/or a lime wedge.

Notes

  • Use fresh pineapple juice if possible, but canned (100% juice, no added sugar) works well too.
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness based on your pineapple juice. Add simple syrup or agave nectar if needed. And if your pineapple is super sweet or you prefer a tarter Margarita, leave out the simple syrup!
