If you’re looking for a tasty cocktail to whip up for Valentine’s Day, look no further than this creamy and delicious Chocolate Raspberry Vodka Martini. Combining the rich flavor of chocolate with the tartness of raspberries, this easy-to-make Chocolate Raspberry Martini recipe tastes like a decadent dessert in a glass!
Valentine’s Day is just a few days away, so if you’re looking for a tasty cocktail to whip up in honor of the occasion, this Chocolate Raspberry Martini is sure to delight and impress!
Now I know there are a lot of different thoughts and opinions on this “holiday,” and I get it. Between the commerciality of it and the pressure to outwardly show our love on a specific day and in a specific way, I can certainly understand why some people choose to ignore it altogether.
But personally, I’m a giant sap who loves love, so I welcome any excuse to celebrate the people I love! Especially because in my world, special occasions always revolve around good food and drinks and I’m all for that.
This year I’m on my own for Valentine’s Day, so I’ve decided to express my love to myself in the form of a cocktail. And since nothing says Valentine’s Day quite like chocolate, I’m opting for a creamy Chocolate Raspberry Martini and making Mozart Chocolate Cream the star of the show!
And I’m not gonna lie…this is one treat I’m glad that I won’t have to share!
Ingredients In A Chocolate Raspberry Martini
What is a Chocolate Martini made of? Well, that depends! From spirit-forward and boozy to creamy and sweet, the style of drink you’re after will determine the ingredients you use.
In this recipe, I opted for a cross between boozy and indulgent. While I love dessert cocktails, I don’t actually enjoy overly sweet drinks, so I think this recipe strikes the perfect balance between aperitif and digestif.
The ingredients in this Chocolate Raspberry Martini are:
- CHOCOLATE LIQUEUR: I used Mozart Chocolate Cream Liqueur in this recipe, but you can certainly make this Chocolate Raspberry Martini with Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. However, you may need to adjust the ratios a touch as Godiva has a more dark chocolate profile while the Mozart Chocolate Cream is more milk chocolate in flavor.
- RASPBERRY LIQUEUR: Chambord Black Raspberry is my favorite in this category of liqueurs, but Giffard Framboise Liqueur is another fantastic option.
- VODKA: Two Vodkas I like to use when making craft cocktails are Ketle One Vodka and Reyka Icelandic Vodka. But whatever you have on hand will work just fine!
- HEAVY CREAM
More About Mozart Chocolate Cream Liqueur
I only discovered Mozart Chocolate Cream recently, and I’m so glad I did!
This delectable liqueur is made in Austria using Belgian milk chocolate, fresh cream, and Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar. It’s super delicious when sipped completely alone over ice, but it’s also a great go-to for any tipples that call for chocolate liqueur.
WHAT DOES MOZART CHOCOLATE CREAM TASTE LIKE?
Creamy and smooth with a silky texture, this liqueur is sweet, but not so sweet that the chocolate flavor gets lost. With underlying notes of vanilla, cocoa, almond, and caramel, it’s hard not to keep filling up your glass with it!
Mozart Chocolate Cream is also gluten-free, and it makes for a great ingredient to use in baking as well as cocktail making!
How To Make A Chocolate Raspberry Martini
Contrary to popular belief, making a Martini is actually quite simple! The hard part comes in finding the proper ratio of ingredients so that the drink remains balanced. Here’s how to make this Chocolate Raspberry Martini with Chambord in just a few easy steps:
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add all the ingredients to the shaker and shake for about 15-30 seconds or until super cold.
- Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe glass and enjoy!
The Best Garnish for a Chocolate-Covered Raspberry Martini
Because I created this drink specifically for Valentine’s Day, I opted to garnish it with a beautiful blossom from my gorgeous new baby rose bush. I just love the unique mixture of red and white in the blooms and find them too beautiful not to showcase. However, it’s obviously not a rose that’s meant to be eaten!
Some edible garnishes that would work well for this cocktail are:
- Chocolate shavings
- Fresh raspberries
- Fresh raspberries dipped in chocolate
- A sprinkle of cinnamon
- A little piece of chocolate served on the side
When To Serve A Chocolate Raspberry Martini
Although I created this drink for the Day of Love, you can certainly make it to enjoy on any special occasion or to simply treat yourself! Other ways to enjoy it include:
- As an aperitif, in which case you could leave out the cream to keep it more booze-forward
- As an after-dinner drink
- Paired with a chocolate or berry-forward dessert
- As a substitute for dessert
- Any time you’re craving something sweet!

As mentioned above, the taste of a Chocolate Martini depends on the ingredients used and the style of the drink. This Chocolate Martini recipe errs on the sweeter side and is meant to be served as more of a dessert-style drink. To me, it tastes like a sippable chocolate-raspberry pudding or mousse! However, leaving out the cream or using a different spirit such as Rum or Bourbon will make your Chocolate Martini taste less sweet and more booze-forward. Its flavor will completely depend on the spirits and mixers used.
WHAT GOES WELL WITH A CHOCOLATE MARTINI?
A simple pairing rule to remember when it comes to sweet sips is to pair your drink with something as sweet or sweeter than what’s in your glass. So a sweeter Chocolate Raspberry Martini like this one would go well with dessert! I think it would taste delicious with anything chocolatey (like chocolate cake or chocolate mousse) or fruity (like a berry pie or cobbler).
CAN A CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY MARTINI BE MADE AHEAD OF TIME?
I hate to sound like a broken record, but again, it depends on the kind of Martini you’re making! If you’re using any kind of cream, I would not recommend making it ahead of time, as the cream can settle and not incorporate into the drink as well if it sits too long. But a Chocolate Raspberry Martini made with more spirit-forward ingredients can certainly be made ahead of time. Just make sure to give it a really good shake before serving!
CAN YOU MAKE A CHOCOLATE MARTINI WITH GIN?
Absolutely! Like chocolate, Gin tends to have a dry profile, so the two flavors work well together. However, I definitely recommend using a milder Gin to make a Chocolate Martini as one that’s too botanical or spicy can easily overwhelm the chocolate flavor. Opt for a Gin that has a more citrusy profile so that it’s not overpowering and will help cut through the richness of the chocolate.

Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake until cold.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass of your choice and garnish as desired.
Notes
- Feel free to leave out the cream if you prefer! I tested this recipe both with it and without it, and I think it’s delicious both ways. I opted for the version with cream because I wanted a more dessert-like drink, but leaving it out transforms it into more of an aperitif than an after-dinner drink!
