If you’re a frequent traveler with a serious sweet tooth like me, it’s worth staying current on TSA food rules. And one question that still causes confusion is: Can you bring candy on a plane?
It sounds simple, but candy is one of those food items that can unexpectedly slow you down at airport security. That’s because the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) treats solid food items differently from liquids and gels, and not all candy fits neatly into one category. I’ve seen ordinary treats flagged for extra screening simply because their texture or packaging raised questions during TSA X-ray checks.
In general, hard candies, chocolate bars, and most gummies pass through TSA checkpoints without issue.
