Mushroom Mountain (Easley | ~30 minutes)
Tucked into the woods just outside Easley, Mushroom Mountain is devoted to the complex world of fungi. Founded by Olga Katic with support from her sister Billie, it’s grown from a passion project into a full-scale education hub for mushroom research and cultivation.
Part science lab, part farm, and part walking trail, a tour here covers everything from lab-based spawn cultivation to greenhouse growing, along with lessons on the benefits of mushrooms and how certain types support natural wellness. And walking the Mushroom Trail, where mushrooms fruit in logs and beds along a wooded loop, gives you a new appreciation for how they develop and the important role they play in the environment.
But Mushroom Mountain is more than just a tour stop. With cultivation workshops, online classes, and foraging certifications, it has become a leader in fungi education. Founded by Sarah and George DuBose, Sassafrass Flower Farm follows sustainable farming practices that prioritize soil health and biodiversity. Their goal is simple: to connect people to nature, to the land, and to each other.
During bloom season, you can stop by for weekly open hours or special events like the monthly Flower Fest, where you can pick your own bouquet, enjoy live music, and grab food or drinks from local food trucks. Private u-pick sessions include exclusive access to the flower fields and open-air pavilion, making it a great spot for date nights and small gatherings.

The team behind Topsoil Farm doesn’t just talk about farm-to-table, they live it. Just a few miles from their downtown Travelers Rest restaurant, owner Wendy Lynam, whose focus on regenerative practices shapes every aspect of the farm, joined forces with Chef Adam Cooke, a James Beard semifinalist, to cultivate a 16-acre working farm that feeds both their menu and their mission.
Herbs, vegetables, and flowers are grown using no-till methods that protect the soil, while a zero-waste system sends kitchen scraps back to the farm as compost. And goats, chickens, and cover crops all play their part in the sustainable initiatives that keep the cycle going year-round.

Table Rock Tea Company (Pickens | ~45 minutes)
Set against the dramatic backdrop of Table Rock Mountain, Table Rock Tea Company is one of only a few tea farms in the United States that grows, processes, and packages its product entirely on-site. Founded by Steve and Jennifer Lorch, the 30-acre farm offers an educational, hands-on look at the agricultural production of tea from seed to sip.
Tours take you through the tea fields, greenhouses, and production areas, often led by members of the Lorch family themselves. (14-year-old Havah was my tour guide, and her wit and depth of knowledge brought the entire operation to life!) You’ll see young plants in the nursery, learn how tea leaves are harvested and processed, and finish with a tasting of teas grown right on the property. One of the most memorable parts is plucking a fresh leaf from the plant, steeping it in hot water, and tasting it right on the spot.
The farm’s shop sells its full line of teas along with handmade goods created by the family, making it easy to take a piece of the experience home.

Each September, Greenville turns its attention to euphoria, a multi-day celebration of food, drink, music, and community. Founded in 2006, the festival has become one of the city’s signature events, drawing chefs, farmers, beverage professionals, and guests from near and far.
Events range from large-format, open-air tastings downtown to more intimate gatherings in farms, gardens, and kitchens throughout the region. One evening might be spent sampling dishes from dozens of local restaurants, the next sharing a meal with a farmer at a table set beneath the stars. These unique experiences offer a deeper understanding of the people and places shaping the Upstate’s culinary and agritourism identity.
While the festival draws national attention, euphoria’s focus remains local: showcasing Greenville’s food and music culture, strengthening the hospitality and arts communities, and supporting regional non-profits through charitable giving.

Greenville State Farmers Market (Greenville | ~15 minutes)
Less of an event and more of a daily institution, the Greenville State Farmers Market has been part of life in Upstate South Carolina agritourism for generations. Open six days a week, it’s a working market where the focus is on what’s in season and who’s selling it, not on frills or fanfare. It’s where locals go to shop for everything from fruits and veggies to plants, pantry staples, and locally-made artisan goods.
In the spring, you’ll find things like garden seedlings, sugar snap peas, and armfuls of hanging baskets. Summer fills the tables with sweet corn, okra, and watermelons. By fall, the focus shifts to crisp apples, leafy greens, and mums, while winter adds firewood bundles, root vegetables, and Christmas trees.
Bring a tote (or two), and if you’re in town during event season, keep an eye out for Spring Flower Festival in April and AutumnFest in September. These are two of the market’s signature family-friendly events aimed at celebrating the season’s best.

Happy Cow Creamery Dairy Farm (Pelzer | ~35 minutes)
Happy Cow Creamery is the last operating dairy farm in Greenville County, and it’s built a reputation for milk that’s fresh and produced with care. The cows are grass-fed and roam freely on chemical-free pastures, and their milk is low-temperature pasteurized, non-homogenized, and bottled right on the farm.
From March through November, guided trolley tours take you through the pastures and into the milking parlor for a firsthand look at the process. Along the way, you’ll learn about the farm’s grazing methods, see the cows up close, and finish with milk samples and a scoop of house-made ice cream.
Before you leave, swing by the farm’s on-site store to stock up on goodies like Happy Cow’s chocolate and strawberry milk, butter, cheese, and other Upstate specialties. Bring a cooler, and the staff will happily pack it with ice so your farm-fresh haul stays cold on the ride home.

City Scape Winery may have started as a DIY idea on a rainy afternoon, but it’s since become one of the Upstate’s most popular agritourism spots for wine lovers. Founded by Josh and Debra Jones, the winery makes craft wines from grapes grown on their own vines, with joy, faith, and community at the heart of the process.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with tastings offered in the winery’s cozy indoor space or out on the patio overlooking the vines. The lineup of more than 25 wines changes with the seasons, ranging from crisp whites to fruit-forward reds.
Depending on when you visit, you might catch live music, a food truck parked outside, or a rotating menu of small bites like local charcuterie and seasonal sandwiches. And if you’re feeling indecisive, start with a flight and stay for a bottle — there’s no wrong way to unwind here!

Every Saturday from May through October, downtown Greenville turns into a celebration of local food and farming. From 8:00 am to noon, two blocks of Main Street close to cars and fill with more than 75 vendors selling everything from forest-foraged mushrooms and grass-fed beef to just-baked sourdough, farm-fresh produce, handmade bath products, and small-batch hot sauces.
Both a market and a Greenville community hangout, it’s easy to spend the whole morning browsing and soaking up the scene with a local coffee in hand. One thing not to miss? The Carolina Reaper vendors! You’ve got to check out the full Scoville Heat Scale to put that spiciness into perspective.

Few summer rituals feel more nostalgic than peach picking, and Fisher’s Orchard has been serving up that rural life experience for generations. Rows of fruit-laden trees give you the chance to fill a basket straight from the branch. Whether you’re stocking up for pies, canning, or simply eating them fresh, the orchard’s laid-back setting makes the experience as enjoyable as the peaches themselves.
Bring a basket (or grab one there) and roam the orchard at your own pace. And don’t forget to check the picking schedule before you go to find out which peach varieties are in season.

If you’ve ever spotted award-winning chèvre or creamy feta at a Greenville market, chances are it came from Split Creek Farm. This nationally recognized goat dairy has been making artisan cheeses and goat milk products for decades, and opens its gates to the public every Friday and Saturday for self-guided visits.
Wander the peaceful property, say hello to the goats, and get a firsthand glimpse of how a small-scale dairy operates. Plus, the on-site farm shop is open throughout the week and stocked with everything from fudge and yogurt to handmade soaps and natural goat milk skincare products.

The Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail is an active way to explore Greenville agritourism by bike or on foot. Stretching 28 miles along a former rail line, it links downtown Greenville with communities like Travelers Rest, passing agritourism stops such as the TD Saturday Market and Topsoil Farm along the way.
Rent bikes near downtown, grab a coffee and pastry at Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery, and cruise the mostly flat route while stopping at trail-side spots to sample goods from local producers. However you travel it, the trail is a simple way to enjoy the great outdoors and makes getting from one agritourism stop to the next part of the adventure.

Golden Grove Farm & Brew combines a working farm with a laid-back brewery, creating a space where you can enjoy craft beer while tossing a frisbee on the disc golf course, catching live music on the lawn, or playing cornhole. The taps rotate with the seasons, showcasing creative small-batch brews made with local ingredients.
The atmosphere is come-as-you-are and unpretentious, with live performances on weekends and crowd favorites like Music Bingo on Sundays. Food trucks rotate in and out, and there’s plenty of space for kids to roam and play.
Some people go for the beer, others for the music or the sense of community. However you get there, Golden Grove makes it easy to stay a while.

Denver Downs Farm is a seasonal destination in Anderson County with a full slate of family-friendly farm activities. One of its most popular events is the Fall Festival, which draws visitors from across Upstate South Carolina to its sprawling pumpkin patch, challenging corn mazes, and lighted Candy Corn Forest trail. Guests can take hayrides, warm up by a bonfire, and listen to live music while snacking on festival favorites like funnel cakes and kettle corn.
Outside of fall, Denver Downs hosts other events that offer the same mix of farm life and fun. The spring Easter Festival features egg hunts and a visit from the Easter Bunny, while the summer Sunflower Festival transforms the fields into a sea of yellow blooms with photo opportunities and live music.

Greenbrier Farms has been part of the Upstate food scene for decades, but its Thursday night pizza parties have become a tradition all their own. Set on a picturesque farm, these casual evenings feature wood-fired pies topped with ingredients grown just steps away. Served on a first-come, first-served basis, people show up for the pizza and stay for the easygoing atmosphere and welcoming community feel.
In addition to its pizza night, Greenbrier is also a full-service event venue, hosting everything from chef-led farm dinners to weddings and private events. It’s a space designed for gathering that’s grounded in hospitality and surrounded by the beauty of the land.

The emphasis is on learning by doing, whether you’re planting, pruning, or turning soil with your own hands. Between sessions, browse the nursery or see what’s in season at the farmstand.

In 1972, South Carolina created the Certified Roadside Market Program to help spotlight these small markets and give buyers confidence that the products come directly from farms in the state. With more than 130 across South Carolina, they’re an easy, everyday way to connect with growers and support local small businesses.
Here are a few standout Greenville County farm stands where you can pop in, have a chat with the business owner, and walk away with something grown or made with care:
